For the first question will be - do you know the netherland?
Greetings! Thanks for giving me the oportunity to give my first interview in a press outside of the Greek borders.Ofcourse i know Netherlands but i never had the chance to visit it. I hope i will be able to do it in a future live gig.
What can you tell me about the origin of the name Gas Masked Lestat
The name is an inspiration of my two favorite authors, W.Burroughs and Ann Rice
Greetings Lestat could you please shortly introduce our readers your music project Gas Masked Lestat Please fill also a biographical resume about how,when and where... Gas Masked Lestat was founded in ..... give us a more background information?
The idea of starting creating this kind of music came up when i thought that i could create a music image using my field recordings. My first record "Pollution of Mind" was released in 2005, its was self released at first but later Rottingham Records made a net release of this demo. The same happened with my second demo "DNA Killers" and my first split collaboration "- V.S. Lunarian". At 2007 I released my first full legth album "Humanity Under Construcion" and it was my last release from Rottingham Records. At 2008 I released a split album with Distopia from our own Species Recordings, it was the first release made from Species Rec. and the response from the audience was pretty satisfying because the promotion was very good and it was released in DIY Digipack package. In the ending of 2009 I released my
second full legth alum called "Yvris Nemesis Katharsis" in Digibook from Species Producions.
How did you start to make Industrial / Experimental / Ambient and what is Industrial / Experimental / Ambient for you?
I started in 2005 simply by collecting field recordings. For me the Expirimental/Industrial Music is a futuristic way
to pass on an idea or a picture to someone.
What and who are some of your influences in Industrial / Experimental / Ambient?
Brighter Death Now, Genocide Organ, Luigi Russolo, 5f_55 and Marilyn Manson are just some of my music influences. But i
have more political and social influencies than music influencies.
What are your top ten favorite Industrial / Experimental / Ambient Club Songs of all time? Who are you influenced by? What would you consider your favorite cd's?
I don't think that noise club hits exist but my favorite danceable industrial songs are

Hmm.. Only GoNvernments have secrets...
So tell me a bit more about yourself, such as musical?
Well i dont have any other experiences in other bands or projects for now, i had the oportunity to do it but i like to work alone and formyself

What is the main idea, the message you want to leave to people who listens to you? What is your motto?
The message I want to pass on to people that listen to my music is the true picture of the world that we live in, that is a decayed and nihilistic, a world where respect and love for people and minorities doesnt exist anymore. Im trying to "annoy" the people by showing him the true ugly side of the world expicting to make him react against this.
where did the concept come from? and whats planned now that your album is finished? or anything else you're working on? Tell me why this title, Tell us a few words about the concept of this?
The concept behind each record is different but the general idea revolves around the new way of life. The last album "Yvris Nemesis Katharsis" was released a few months ago and I chose this title because through this album I talk about Justice and Revenge from the side of a person or an animal.
When's the new album coming out?
It will take some time for my next record athough Im already working on it.
How is the current promotional tour going for supporting this album?
It goes very well and Its pretty much in the same levels with the split made with Distopia
What do you think of a modern Industrial / Experimental / Ambient and about Industrial / Experimental / Ambient scene?
I believe that Expirimental/Industrial Music has remained Underground and I like that but I like more the fact that its audience has increased
as people seek this kind of music and it has become more aceptable.
What was your best live experience so far?
The best live I ever did was supporting Grendel live in greece in 2008 and supporting Ah Cama-Sotz in 2009 a few days ago

There are no members, just me using some distortion and other guitar pedal effects.
What are your views on the current state of this electro scene in Griekenland.in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
We have many Industrial bands in Greece and not only Experimental and the Industrial scene in greece is growing since there is more crowd that listens to this music and there also more musicians making Industrial music. I believe that in other countries things are even better mainly because there were alot bands that existed from the 80s
you have very nice numbers`and many many more tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?
Thank you very much. Creating a track is more a matter of thought than a matter of composing. At first I liked taking recorded sounds
or taking recorded loops but now I make all the sounds all by my self using pedals and sometimes bass.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
I believe my music is a mixture of Death Industrial-Power Elecronics and maybe Power Noise.
What do you do to chill out?
I do things common people do like listening to music, going to the movies.
What is currently inspiring your material as an artist? tell me all about the Industrial / Experimental / Ambient scene of Griekenland?
My inspirations is behind the human nature, i like observing other people and through their crimes im getting inspiration. There is so much sickness out there and so much misunderstanding between people. All these are my inspiration and as far as i know there is tones of this shit out there. We have a very strong experiental/industrial scene here in Greece and some verry strong bands like [distopia], abstractive noise, inferior god are just some of them.I also like the music of Xsoz and Unicron. Unicron is a very new band but he plays very good music.
Do you think that people from the music press didn't expect you to grow up musically?
Well i dont really know, and maybe i dont care at all. People from the music press write very good reviews of my cd's so i think that they like my music too.but i dont really know what they had in mind some years before.
what is the key to making music from Gas Masked Lestat and what inspires you to keep growing as a musician?
There is nothing secret in the making of my music. Only some good sounds and some pretty strong nightmares, these are my weapons for my music.
How do you see the future of download / Copyright in area of goth-Industrial / Experimental / Ambient? What are the best ways to develop it in your mind ?
I think that downloading is a good way to get popular in the underground masses. I believe that people in the underground scene need to download music cause its the only way to find new bands and listen to them. But in the other way, downloading its strongly awfull to the artists. If an artist see that he doesn't sell many copies of his cd's he will break up his project or his band, its a very difficult topic. But we have to see all the ways of thinking for someone.
28-If there was one thing you want people to know about your band what would that be?
hmm... i dont know... maybe that this project will stay alive forever (?)

I'm working on my next album, in some split releases and i released "reconstruction ritual" for free download some days ago. You can download it from my myspace profile ;) its a one-track release.

in the start i was asking for playing in my live gigs but the last 2 years they ask for it. I am open in any proposal...
