An old videoclip with a remix from The Kill

3-Combichrist (oh, yes)
4-Dive
5-Cabaret Voltaire
6-Vomito Negro

Tell one secret about Liquid G. that you have never told to anyone?
The song 1.30am was made on a WASP synth from Dirk Ivens. :)

so tell me a bit more about yourself, such as musical?
As a musician, I can't read or write a note, it's al in the head and the ears. Also, Liquid G. isn't following a music style, going from noise, electro industrial, ebm to cyber electro, even sometimes electro punk.

how and why did you come about starting Liquid G.?
Liquid G. started first as Liquid Garbage, a two men project on basguitars. But after a few months it becomes a solo project, without the Garbage, only the "G" was left. One guitar and a rhythmbox. But after a while, I replaced the guitar for a synth.

what else inspires you to create?
At that time (1980-1990) Liquid G., Vomito Negro and The Kilinik where good friends and we worked sometimes together. So that gives me some inspiration. Also experiments with sounds recorded on tapes from radio and tv gives me inspiration to create some music.

Tel me more about Kim (Sing/Songwriter) New Member of Liquid G.
Kim is great to work with. I was looking a long time for a singer (female) but didn't find one.My friend Serge asked me if his girlfriend (Kim) could doing a try out for the vocals. And so it was.Now I can concentrate me live more on the synths.

Let's talk about your debut 1987:First song “1:30 AM” and about the first tape / cdr came out
As I told before, the song was created on a WASP and souned great for that time, it was pure improvisation, played one time and recorded directly on tape. This was the big start for Liquid G.

“The Art Of Garbage” on his own label “Liquid Produkts”.and your second tape / cdr“A Killing Gaze”.
I find The Art Of Garbage one of the best inspired tape/cd-r from Liquid G..Especially the special edition from 2008. This was the pure sound of Liquid G.The Killing Gaze is not my favorite tape/cd-r. It's the first one working with a drum computer, TR505.

where did the concept come from? and whats planned now that your tape / cdr is finished? or anything else you're working on? Tell me why this title "A Killing Gaze"?
A Killing Gaze is just a title, don't now anymore where it came from.

What are your views on the current state of this electro scene in Belgum.in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
For this moment only the best known bands can doing live performance, the beginning bands, the smaller, can't grow. It's not like the 80's anymore. Now you have to fight to get your place in the scene and on stage. That's why Liquid G. isn't much live on stage, because we are doing it for fun! not for the money.

you have very nice project with NTRSN..and many many more tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?
Yeh, I did one song with NTRS,after that the project stopped.I don't do the vocals on that song, only backing vocals.About creating a song,I can't tell it,it's like painting, today it worked, tomorrow it don't.I get in front of my pc and starting with some beats or sequences. If it sounds great in my head,I let it rest for a while. If it still sounds great after a couple of weeks, the I work it out to a new song.

Out of all of your albums, which album would you say is your favorite album? Why?
Real favorite, don't know,The Art Of Garbage from the old ones and Black Liquid from the new cd-r's.Like I told before, The Art Of Garbage is pure garbage, the sound of Liquid G. :) On Black Liquid are songs that I want to make for a long time, and now they are complete, just like I want them, with female vocals :)

what inspires you to keep growing as a musician?
Making music is just entertainment for me, and I like to learn more and more about how to make a good sounding song, mixing and mastering. And that's how to grow.

What ideas, movements and personalities would you say were crucial for the definition and development of Liquid G. as a creative entity?
Not much, somtimes my work gives me inspiration to write a song or something happens in the family, but I don't care about politics or shit like that, because we can't do a thing to make things better. But now I write my music and ask Kim write the song for it.

If there was one thing you want people to know about your band what would that be?
Liquid G. is Garbage, lol Every live gig is different,we don't like to play always the same on stage, you can't sing the songs with us,because I sing them always different :) That's Liquid G., a jam session on stage.

Tell us a little bit more about Liquid G. What do you do in your spare time?
Not interestinging, :) just a normal job, chief maintanance technician in a factory.

What do you think of its intermingling with the electro, Darkwave and EBM scenes? while electro is your main musical pallet, what other music do you listen to?
Punk, rock, trance, and all good music.Especially the old skool punk, these are my roots.Sex Pistols,Sham 69,The Exploited,Ramones,....I've still god friends in that scene, the younger ones (The Heartaches, Enemy Rose),but still play that old skool stuff.

Please let us know about your upcoming plans, some new releases you like to confirm here
The new cd-r is now available (release 30-04-09), BLACK LIQUID. For now, we going back to work creating new songs with Kim.Normally we will play in October at the Muziekgieterij in Maastricht (NL). So I would like to write new songs for Kim against that time. Also working on new remakes from old songs, these are released on my other label, CHAO$ INDUSTRIE$.Compilations with old material and remakes. We have at the moment 2 relases, Chaos Industries Vol1 and Vol2.

How and why did you begin to make music? Why various electronic styles? tell us about your unique style of music and who are your major influences? Where do you typically get your inspiration for numbers?
I started back in 1987 making electronic music,I have my own style, it's a mix of different electro and punk styles, even noise. But now,I make more rhythmic music with Liquid G.and the noise/experiment sounds goes to Maxx:Impact,my subproject. With Maxx:Impact I can go deeper and noisier than Liquid G..For Maxx:Impact I get my inspirations in the industry, machines, tools. It's sometimes not easy to choose which song is for LG and which for MI. :)

Are you working on any current or future projects?
Maxx:Impact and also with Peter De Koning (Traumasutra) working on new songs for a new project (when I have time). And off course Chao$ Industrie$ :)

What is the future for your music?
Don't know, I hope we can play some other live gigs in the future and doing our stuff on stage.

It has been a pleasure to interview you on your musical activity,Well, any last words to your ebm-industrial fans?
Enjoy the music, don't be to critical on the sound quality, espacilly on live gigs, remember, making music is making fun, we are only humans on stage, no computers ;)
