Featuring Aggregat | Interview by Ruud Dreessen aka ebm-industrial.nl | 23 januari 2010 18:00
Thanks Aggregat that you have found time to give answers to these questions,
01-For the first question will be - do you know the Netherlands?
Not really, never been there. My father’s girlfriend is from the Netherlands.
02-Do you follow the electronic music scene, do you have any other favorite bands?
Yes, a bit. There are many good bands out there. I really like the Swedish bands, like: Container 90, SPARK!, AUTODAFEH, EkoBrottsMyndigheten.
03-Greetings Aggregat could you please shortly introduce our readers your music project Aggregat Please fill also a biographical resume about how, when and where...give us a more background information?
Aggregat is a one-man band from Sweden, which sings in Swedish. Aggregat is still a new born – Born: 13:42 27/10 2009 - That’s when I finally got my gear and sense together. I’ve been making music since I was just a little piglet, all kinds of stuff. Ending up doing Synth pop/Space pop and bitpop and such. All most all of that was for my ears only.
04-How did you start to make, Electro Industrial, EBM and what is, Electro Industrial, EBM for you?
I’ve been listening to all kind of EBM for some time, but I just didn’t manage to get the sound I wanted when I tried to make some my self. Then for some month ago it all just started to fall in place. My experience of ebm is first of all that it is very physical. Movement. You just can’t sit still when you hear good ebm.
05-What and who are some of your influences in, Electro Industrial, EBM?
Of cores there’s all this classics like: Front, DAF and Nitzer Ebb. Other influences are bands like: Cat rapes Dog, Container 90 and SPARK!. Really anything that makes my legs want to move.
06-What are your top ten favorite, Electro Industrial, EBM Club Songs of all time? Who are you influenced by? What would you consider your favorite cd's?
Of all time, I don’t know. For the moment that would be:
1 Der Mussolini D.A.F.
2 Let Beauty Loose Nitzer Ebb
3 Butchers knife Presto Fervant
4 I love you Spark!
5 Barcrawler Container 90
6 Totally EJBEÄM! EkoBrottsMyndigheten
7 Strength Container 90
8 Vi Vet Vad Vi Vill Spark!
9 Stompers Autodafeh
10 Ett Lejon I Dig SPARK!
07-So tell me a bit more about yourself, such as musical?
Daniel Wigström, 31 years, from Visby, Gotland. I’ve just moved back to Visby from Uppsala, Sweden where I have lived for 8 years studying.
I started playing the accordion at the age of 9. Self learned guitar player since early teenage. I bought my first synthesizer, in the early 1990’s. (the very same I use for midi keyboard today)
08-By the way do you like my questions? tell me what you think about it! ;-)
They’re OK. A bit much about the influence maybe.
09-What’s the name of your band? What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?
The name Aggregat came of an idea I have, that I’m a producer of energy through my music. (The name Kraftwerk was taken.)
10-where did the concept come from? and whats planned now that your album is finished? or anything else you're working on? Tell us a few words about the concept of this?
The concept of Aggregat is simply me doing music, ebm. Straight from the heart.
11-When's the new album coming out?
An album seems quite far away. When I’ve done some more songs I will make a demo. The songs on Myspace are all I’ve have for the moment. More songs will come as I make them.
12-What do you think of a modern ,Electro Industrial, EBM and about ,Electro Industrial, EBM scene?
The “growing”?! old school movement is something I really like. The Swedish ebm scene is looking quite good
13-you have very nice numbers` Aggregat tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?
It often starts from one of this tree:
- An idea (often lyric).
- An audio sample from some good movie that’s given me an idea.
- A bass line that I made.
Then I often make a bass line if I have’nt done that Then I make the drums.
14-What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
Ebm. That’s my goal anyway. Synth pop/Bodypop? With bits of bitpop. (I love those blippy sounds.)
Welle: Erdball, Spark!, Container 90, Spetsnaz, EkoBrottsMyndigheten, Kropp, Cat rapes Dog, And One, Eddie Meduza, The Kristet Utseende
15-what is the key to making music from Aggregat and what inspires you to keep growing as a musician?
Just try to do good music, good ebm and having fun!
16-How do you see the future of download / Copyright in area of goth-,Electro Industrial, EBM music ? What are the best ways to develop it in your mind ?
Without downloading, bands like Aggregat wouldn’t be. If you put it out on the net (or any where else) it’s obvious that people will download it and share it. If you don’t like that you’d better keep the music for yourself. I think it’s a great way to spread music. In my world you don’t make music to earn money – I’m making music because it’s fun and if people like it, dance to it or sing along then my world is complete.
17-Please let us know about your upcoming plans, some new releases you like to confirm here
New songs will appear on my Myspace as soon as they are ready. I’ve got a couple of songs almost ready right now.
