Re:dux tion

Re:dux tion is what we would call Dark Experimental Electro. But this being too much of a mouthful, let’s just say they understand how to make music! Although, Ambient noises and Experimental aren’t really my thing, I can say I enjoyed this very much.Especially nice if you’re watching a horror movie without sound. This is not the type of music you want played when walking through a dark alley.Re: dux tion actually has soundscapes in it, which, if you are not too known in the Ambient scene, will make your neckhairs stand tall. But that isn’t all they have to offer.Having some of the more known metal bands as influences, they even have some industrial metal songs, with ofcourse some kick ass ambient settings in it.And the rest of their songs just have a nice, tech sound to it.No harsh beats or anything, just nice, quiet and calm…in a disturbing way

My opinion: I give it a 8,5 write [:Cy4n1de:]

Band: Rabia Sorda
Album: Metodos del caos
Released: 2006
Label: Out of Line / Metropolis
Rabia Sorda is a side-project of Hocico by it’s singer Erk Aircrag (Eric Garcia for his mother). It combines harsh electro with analogue drums and ethnic sounds. A combination that works out well. The only problem is that the music is more staccato than I’m used to. The problem is that the music of Rabia Sorda is less danceable than expected.
Also Erk doesn’t use distorted vocals on this project. His own voice is very raw, so I can’t really say he’s singing, it’s more like screaming. It really shows the emotion that fits with the music. After a while it gives me a headache. And that’s to bad, because there’s a lot of energy in the music of Rabia Sorda.
The album isn’t a bad album at all, but the main problem is that the beats aren’t as danceable as of other projects. Tracks I particularly like are: Walking on nails, Save me from my curse, What you get is what you see and Shape of a name.
By the way, if you happen to be angry, this is a great album to let you energy out!

Band: Rotersand
Album: Welcome to goodbye
Released: 2005
Label: Dependent Records / Metropolis
The first reaction on the new Rotersand album was: “wow, different!”. Their debut “Truth Is Fanatic” had a lot of catchy tunes and was very danceable. Fortunately Rotersand remained that part intact. But the second album is much more diverse than the first one. Sometimes I wondered if they wanted to make every song in a completely different style. But they didn’t (completely) lost the Rotersand-sound.
I’m glad that it worked out very well. The new album is much more fun to listen to because of the diversity. They even made two different versions of the song “The Last Ship” (pt 1 & pt 2). The first “part” (version) is the dance floor version while the second “part” (version) is the ballad version. An absolute killer is the song “undone”, which sounds even better when played live. It has catchy synthesizer tunes and makes you want to dance instantly. Furthermore there are also a couple of ballads on the album which aren’t that interesting (except for “The Last Ship pt. 2).
There is not much to say about this album. Except for that it’s more diverse than it’s predecessor. It’s one of my favourite albums of the moment.
