For the first question will be - do you know the netherland? Jacky could you please shortly introduce our readers your music project Signal Aout 42
I can understand a little bit the Dutch language, but I’m not able to have a conversation in it
Please fill also a biographical resume about how,when and where.Signal Aout 42 was founded in give us a more background information?
How did you start to make EBM and what is EBM for you?
When I started in 1981 to play music with schoolfriends, there was for our generation only the choice to play hard rock, punk and disco When I was 16 years old, I was not really fan of music, but when I heard for the first time punk music and New Wave I’ve said to myself “Ok, I want to make music too!” To play the guitar was to difficult for me, so I bought the only instrument which I thought I was able to make maybe some music… a synthesizer and a rhytmbox When I started to compose, I’ve tried to imitate Kraftwerk Together with my singing I was a little bit able to compose and that was the beginning of SA42 Because its all electronic I think that SA42 is classified as a EBM Group When they say that SA42 is qualified as the pioneer of Electronic Body Music, is my question what is the really EBM?
What are your top ten favorite EBM / Industrial Club Songs of all time?
I was not going out very often, a solitairy person,without music Certainly the great classic songs of Front 242 like No shuffle did get my attentionFunny story… I love the title “Join the Chant”…. but i didn’t knew until 2 years ago it was from Nitzer Ebb. ( Who I only knew by name!)
Tell one secret about Signal Aout 42 that you have never told to anyone?
Sorry, its a secret that I will never tell

I’m a person who is very beautiful and intelligent.

What is the main idea, the message you want to leave to people who listens to you? What is your motto?
There is not really a message, but more recurse the themes like the meaning of life and human stupidities. The power in all these themes is my kind of prediction.
Such as the war, the madness the crime, violence….
What’s the name of your band? What’s the origin of that name ore this SA42
As my themes for prediction are the power, manipulation, I choose the name of a German propagenda (manipulation of the people) of the second world war: SIGNA
Have you changed the band’s name before?
Yes, when we started the name of the band was only SIGNAL But the problem with this name was that it was also a brandname of a famous toothpaste For avoiding jokes compared to the toothpaste, I have decided to add the date of record sleeve of Signal that has been used as base for the posters for the first concerts, August 1942 Signal became then SIGNAL AUGUST 42 or SA42
Are you a member of any music organizations? and Grandchaos
(Tcheleskov Ivanovitch) tell me about it?
No, I have nothing to do with Grandchaos.I’ve just asked Tcheleskov and Olivier to help me at the concerts because it’s impossible for me to go on stage alone. (I can’t sing and play/control the instruments at the same time)
How is the current promotional tour going for supporting this album?
Nothing special is planned. I really dont like to promote because I’m not commercial.If I go on stage its only for pleasure (mine and of course the fans)
Our usual question - what is EBM for you?
Electronis Music….but I have difficulty with Body??!!... Body let me think of Break dance
What was your best live experience so far?
All the concerts of SA42 were good experiences because the public is each time hugh numerous and excitedThe concerts in the year 2008 such as Wave gotic, Famillien Treffen and Bim were really a great pleasure for me.

What are your views on the current state of this electro scene in Belgum .in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
at mine opinion, I think that in Belgium the electro scene is very limited in compare to other countries like Germany, Brazil, Spain…It should open some spectrum in the electro, to refresh the image and the sounds There are to many people who making the same style and the same image at mine opinion.The audience although very active and passionate, but not renew quickly. For example, to me all the festivals are with the same line up. What will lead at long-term to boring in stead of passionate
you have very nice album..and many many more tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music
creation process work? How do you create a song?
When I compose an album like Transformation, I have a theme in my mind.Then compared to that theme I create several atmospheres related to this theme For Transformation I have developped the theme madness leading to sequestration and murder. I try to continue the atmosphere of this theme, one after the other forming a kind of story, a general atmosphere. The inspiration comes naturally because I am particularly interested in the subjects that I developpe. Also the fact of making music is a way for me to speak and live the experience by proxy.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
Electro,Kraftwerk, Fad Gadget, Killing Joke,Simple Minds, New order, Human league.
What do you do to chill out?
I’m passionated about many things in fact, too much perhaps! I love to play historic war games, making scale models, sailing, travelling and partying
So what are their main influences as a band at the moment?
I don’t have a a current reference, my inspirations are always the same as at the beginning.Only film music has been added
What is currently inspiring your material as an artist?
The cinema and human nature are truly inexhaustible sources of inspiration

I’m not really in contact with other groups
Do you think that people from the music press didn't expect you to grow up musically?
As I already said, I’m very lonely and apart from composing and preparing live shows I do not very often. Promotion is not particularly my thing If you want to see me, you must come to me, I will not come spontaneously.I must say that since I work with Out off Line the press is more and more interested in me.
How do you see the future of download Copyright in area of goth-EBM industrial music ? What are the best ways to develop it in your
mind ?
I don’t have a problem with downloading and illegal copies Ofcourse, the artists earns less money because of the downloading but the true fans will buy allways the digipack. Nothing will replace this beautiful object. When we don’t make the music just to sell it, essential is that many people can listen to it. And then the downloading can assist to this dissemination on large scale
our last album are Double CD Transformation 2007 Please let us know about your upcoming plans, some new releases you like to confirm here
Yes a new album is finished and will be released at the end of 2009, beginning 2010.As for transformation I created a theme; but here the atmosphere is more martia. I can tell you already that the style will be a little more BASIC with a wink to the old school.
