Featuring Menschenkind | Interview by Ruud Dreessen aka ebm-industrial.nl 20 februari 2010 23:44
For the first question will be - Thanks tom that you have found time to give answers to these questions,How are you doing?
fucking in hell tonight
Hello tom what noise do you make in Menschenkind?
it´s a mixture of drum and bass, dub, techno - we call it pagan electro with dark new age portry reflecting my emotional confusion
How's the start of 2010 been for you thus far?
a lot of work in the studio finishing our first album and planning the release and managing gigs with our new booking agent SYNTEX from Austria
do you know the netherland?
Tom was lifing in Den Haag for four years and had a major deal there, he´s been traveling through the extasy hell of the electronic underground
For a lot of people, this is probably going to be their first full introduction to Menschenkind so how about you tell us a little bit about how you guys know each other and how the band came together?
we are both crazy bitches searching for fame, musical adventures, incredible shows and action. We met each other in a famous German medieval band where we both are playing, it´s called DES TEUFELS LOCKVÖGEL (the enticing birds of the devil), became friends and something ...else =) then found out that the love of electronic music is something we have in common and we enjoy making music without limitations cause there´s plenty of them in medieval music. now we´´ve reached a point where we want to conquer the world and open up minds!
Do you follow the electronic music Electronica / New wave / Keltische muziek,do you have any other favourite bands?
No because we kind of founded that new style, this combination of electronica and our understanding of pagan sounds. The religion of Juliane is Pagan and so she colours some of teh texts with her experiences. Other bands we like are mainly electro pop: Miss Kittin and the Hacker,Fisherspooner, Richie Hawtin, Monika Kruse, Themselves
How is your relationship with other electronic bands?
we do our own thing but we like to share whiskey and funny things in the VIP area
Can you give us a brief run-through of Menschenkind story so far?
Our first gig was last year at the festival de la musique near Cologne, we were booked by Langweiligkeits records. But it was also a time when we´re both very involved in our other musical projects. Since december 2009 we finally found time to concentrate absoulutely on Menschenkind.
How did you start to make music and what is Gothic for you? ?
We found mushrooms on the meadow and had a jam session where we recorded our first song called Menschenkind.

A friend of Juliane, famous VJ in Germany opens the scene for us. The audience is mainly techno generation.
And the scene in other countries?
No experience yet.Either Juliane brings a text idea and Tom some beats or a melody. That mainly happens when Julianes heart gets broken again by some boy which happens every day... we also use music for self-therapy- express everything that is on our mind and causes feelings so we find a better way to a solution.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
Pagan Electro , influence : Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Sven Väth
Since the music industry is more open now to purely electronic music has this made things easier for you?
Yes indeed, it was easier to find a booking agency and the audience loves the fact that we don´t fit any categories.

relationships, friends, realtives that die, movies like 28 days later, techno clubs, and the dump mass of people we try to wake up

ité the fire deep inside our souls
