Well my name is Ryan I’ve been into music since a very early age but really started to get into programming electronic music since about 98ish before that I played in various metal bands. And dj’d at various underground techno parties under various guises.Dirty K started in early 2006. An idea of Kaysha’s and basically progressed from there.Kaysha has been into music in a very big way from an early age as well going all over the country to various industrial parties but Started off learning to program when we started dirty k and it progressed from there..
What do you do when you're not partaking in band activities?
Well Kaysha studies a lot and plays games etc.. And I love to go out listen to a wealth of different music and chat to new people and we both like to chill out with our friends
Back to your roots, how did you first come to music?
Well I got into music at an early age I think I was about 9 years old I used to love all the old techno sounds back then as well as a lot or other stuff..Kaysha’s father used to play a lot of classic rock and stuff like that so she kind of grew up with it.
If you weren't a musician what would you be?
Kaysha: id be a millionaire haha
Ryan: I really don’t know as music has taken up most of my life..
When did you form Dirty K? What inspired you to make music together?
Early 2006 is when we wrote the first Dirty K material.. Just after Kaysha and me got married.. Kaysha one day decided to find out what it was like to like to program power noise with a little help from me…. We really had fun and found that we could work very well together and bounce ideas off each other..

Lol probably
Who is your favorite band at the moment?
Ryan : there is far too many great acts out there..
Kaysha: very hard to choose to be honest.
What band or bands would you like to tour with and why?We would like to tour with Asche, W.A.S.T.E, Converter, Mono No Aware and why?
Because there all very dirty and distorted…
Is touring a pleasure or a necessary evil?
It would be great given the opportunity…
What would you be doing right now if you weren't in Dirty K?
Kaysha: College studying probably
Ryan: No idea..
And that's how you came up with the name of the band? How did you come up with the name Dirty K?
Kaysha’s idea as the music was dirty and her name is Kaysha and it totally fit the sound…
If people don't know what you and your music are about, how would you describe Dirty K?
BRUTAL HAHA
How did you come up with the title "Ritual Of Fear" (Dirty K latest CD)
Ryan: This was an idea of mine that stemmed from a very bad dream I had. And made me think about it..
All right. You guys toured heavily after "Ritual Of Fear" came out. How did the whole touring, to support that record, turn out?
We mini toured after ‘Head on Collision’ came out we are still waiting for the release of ritual of fear which with a bit of luck shall be sometime this year however we played a lot of the sounds that are on ritual of fear on the head on collision mini tour.. And got a great response from them.
How do you feel to hold the finished cd in your hands?
Mission accomplished!!
What are you currently listening to on your mp3 player? What artists have you been listening to these days?
Ryan: mostly power metal these days it gives me a break from the noize, but when I do listen to the noize I love and enjoy artists like Stainless 4571, Catastrophe, The PCP Principle, Mono No Aware

Its going pretty good we seem to have a lot of interest in it so time will tell J
Is your family pretty impressed with what you've done?
Very!!
Have you recorded any previous cd`s or posted any audio files on the Internet? What type of recording process did you use? Who produced your recording?
Since 2006 we have self released 3 limited edition eps, one split album, and a further 2 full time albums on labels and the 3rd album entitled "Ritual Of Fear" is ready now. We have also done various remixes, for Asche, Doomer, Schultz, Converter Our set up is mostly hardware based and live stuff is all set up on triggers as its easier. We do all our own recording production mastering and engineering. We have posted samples of our tracks on our profile pages and on our website.
What are your views on the current state of this powernoize, industrial,Experimental scene in United Kingdom .in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
The scene in the UK is very limited but close knitted. Some of the scenes in places like Germany and the USA are massive in comparison..
What new music inspires you when you are writing? Tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?
Anything dirty and brutal/powerful.. the music creation process is over a couple of days sometimes it takes weeks we get the idea write the tune then record it in parts then finally sequence it..
How did you sell your CD’s/Audio Files? (Consignment? Live sales? My space, iTunes,Distributor?)
Since the music industry is more open now to purely electronic music has this made things easier for you?
Very well I think over the years it have progressed so much and are glad that it is like it is today.
So what are their main influences as a band at the moment?
Life situations, all music everything we see, visual, feelings, etc they all play a big part in it.
Do you see the Internet as a benefit for bands like Dirty K? Does the growing possibility of someone downloading your material, rather than buying it, worry you?
The internet is a benefit in one way but an absolute pain in the neck in the other way, if they download it illegally that doesn’t worry us it antagonizes us as these people don’t realize we have spent months sometimes making a track just for some deluded nutt case to upload it for free and totally ruin our cd sales.. However if people email us and ask for particular tracks within reason we will send them, but this is based on trust. J
How do you see the future of download / Copyright in area of goth powernoize, industrial,Experimental music ? What are the best ways to develop it in your mind ?
Copyright is a joke these days and I’m sure it will be worse before it gets better.. I think if people stopped the illegal downloading the uploading the scene would grow a lot more.
What about all the big festivals? Summer Darkness in the Netherlands? Mera Luna in Germany and Wave Gothic Treffen in Germany and many more?
All very awesome festivals.. and we both hope they continue.
what is the key to making music from Dirty K and what inspires you to keep growing as a musician?
Take inspiration from everything use it in the sounds we produce…If there was one thing you want people to know about your band what would that be?We love what we do and it makes us feel great that other people like it as well.
Please let us know about your upcoming plans, some new releases you like to confirm here
