Hello Porcelain Puppets how are you doing? Where are you currently?
hi what's up? we are now here in home checking our emails Could you briefly summarize
Porcelain Puppets and what you guys are about?
Porcelain Puppets is an electronic mexican band developed for those people who try to find something diferent to listen in electronic music
what noise do you make in Porcelain Puppets?
well our music style is based on industrial music genre, but we have diferent styles from rhythmic noise, industrial to the hard ebm, etc.
How's the start of 2010 been for you thus far?
Right now 2010 has been a good year,some slow but too interesting,because we are building our band as we planned in the past,2 presentations for now
If people don't know what you and your music are about where have they been!?,how would you describe yourself?
as a band or personal, well as a band, we think that we are a perfectionist group, more for 4borto 1.1, but in general we try to give the best of us, but sometimes people don't feel the same, just because we are not a famous band they think that we created this band just for fun, maybe they have a little reason, because we enjoy while we play, but our main vision is turn the group to a profesional level
If you could play a show anywhere in the world where would it be?
all around the world, jajaja, germany could be the first place where we like to play, because a lot of people with hard electro taste live there, but we think that visit latin america will be a great start too
What day jobs did you guys have while you were putting the band together?
well 4b0rto is the technical freak in keyboard & midi interfaces while 1n54ne is the lyrical composer
What is your music background? Who are you and your bandmembers? Tell your story
the bandmembers are: 4b0rt0 1.1 & 1n54nne d1v4 we are brothers & we have almost the same musical taste, for that we start to experiment in electronic music some years ago, we make some tracks then we start the band as you know it now
Back to your roots, how did you first come to music?
well, i think that it was when i was a little child, i was 6 or 7 years old & i saw marilyn manson at the mtv music awards & i was afraid then i like too much his music until today, then i discover other groups but i like almost everything about music, from manson, to the prodigy & a lot of industrial bands, like laibach, kmfdm, skinny puppy, das ich and much more
If you weren't a musician what would you be?
well i never think about it, but we think that we could be a simple bothers in college & work respectively
When did you form Porcelain Puppets? What inspired you to make music together?
first the music itself, second the almost the same ideas about our lifestyle, and then we feel capable to make something that like to the others, 1n54nne d1v4 likes to much read & write and for me i like technology & visual art, she is more gothic & i am more cyberpunk jejje
What are your top ten favorite Trash / Trance Club Songs of all time?
mmm it's hard to choose, very hard, we conlude that we don't have one song, because from the music that we consider the best, the songs have the same weight on ours
Do you keep up with how the record has been selling? Is that really important to you?
yes, but is a good discussion, because technology is changing very fast, and if internet doesn't exist we couldn't never meet you incluiding the small group of people who likes our music, and we hope that group grow up jaja but the feeling of have the physical album in your hands it's not going to be the same as buy the record by internet,
want their friends to see them buying your record?
if people buy our record, is because they like our music, our concept & our way to see the world maybe
Who is your favorite band at the moment?
at the moment, ab0rt0 thinks in soman, because his music is too Innovative as the prodigy, he likes to much the bands that grow up their concept & experiment to much with their music new ways of musical creation allows new changes in music & keeps people interested
What band or bands would you like to tour with and why?
well is not important to us choose a band, as this moment, we have been playing with some bands, and they are great people, but if you ask it, maybe with some noisy band as the prodigy or suicide commando,
Is touring a pleasure or a necessary evil?
we never been in a tour, but playing out of the your city it's a pleasure , because meet people that thinks different it's great and playing for people that maybe don't know about your music is better because you don't know if they like it or not, the doubt in your mind is great
What would you be doing right now if you weren't in Porcelain Puppets?
maybe watching tv and resting in the summer vacations
And that's how you came up with the name of the band? How did you come up with the name Porcelain Puppets?
Porcelain puppets came up because we think that people are puppets from their own fears and complexes, and they are made of porcelain, a delicate material just like their lives, fagile
If people don't know what you and your music are about, how would you describe
Porcelain puppets are an electronic band of two brothers, who tries to criticize the insane way of live and the & the thoughs of blind people who judged everything Porcelain Puppets?
How did you come up with the title "©0®®upti0n" (Porcelain Puppets latest single)
the title for our first single came up for the relationship between humanity and their corrupted side and worse if you are president of a nation playing to be god, with the life of innocent people, is a protest for the useless war that some people plays just like a children plays chess All right. You guys toured heavily after "©0®®upti0n" came out.
How do you feel to hold the finished cd in your hands?
no ©0®®upti0n is not published yet, but hope make a tour for the release, we present the single on past decemberĀ in a special event called mechanical hate fest 2009
What are you currently listening to on your mp3 player?
television - baxter
What artists have you been listening to these days?
the prodigy, suicide commando, sopor aeternus, lacrimosa, laibach,system of a down,vnv nation, unter null, ryksopp, and others
How is the current promotional tour going for supporting this album?
hope make some presentations in different cities and web support for the people who lives in other countries
Is your family pretty impressed with what you've done?
yeah, they like the idea of make what we like to do: "Music & digital art", hope soon study digital art deeply, after college of course
Have you recorded any previous cd`s or posted any audio files on the Internet? what type of recording process did you use? who produced your recording?
well yes, we record a promo called Taedium Vitae the last year, but the process was simple, all in our home,
What are your views on the current state of this Trash / Trance scene in Mexico.in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
i think that here were we live is very sad, because there are no longer parties, no organization in this kind of events, a lot of people are leaving the movement to do other things,but in mexico city are still making a lot of industrial events,
What new music inspires you when you are writing? tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song? How did you sell your CDs/Audio Files? (Consignment? Live sales? My space, iTunes,Distributor?) Since the music industry is more open now to purely electronic music has this made things easier for you?
We think that all music inspire us, well almost all, from the music that we like because when you are listening a record you think a lot, about you and what makes you feel, but life experiences are the main way to inspire us to make a song, in lyrical composition we based most of our work on the writes of 1n54n3 d1va, but in some songs 4b0rt0 has some social protests about the theme that we want to put into the song, when we wanna make the music for the song, we experimet with synths & fx, depends a lot the theme because that will be the reason for us to make a song with dark atmospheres or hard beats, fast or slow melodies, for the moment we don't sell our music yet, we will start to do it soon,
So what are their main influences as a band at the moment?
technology & the relationship with human behaviours Do you see the Internet as a benefit for bands like of course, without internet, we couldn't know about our favorite artist
Porcelain Puppets? Does the growing possibility of someone downloading your material, rather than buying it, worry you?
well sometimes is the way for the people to know about you, is not the best way to do it, but sometimes the person who downloaded your music spread the word with someone else and live shows will grow up, but if really like the music consider that person as a fan, will buy the album for the feeling of have it in your hands
What about all the big festivals? Summer Darkness in the netherlands? Mera Luna in Germany and Wave Gothic Treffen in Germany and many more?
those are great festivals, great places for people who like this music with only one purpose enjoy the music as they want, hope we can play there some day jajaja
what is the key to making music from
desire and conviction to do the things that you really love, have the streght to suffer sometimes as everithing in this life jaja

right now just wait for the release of our single, & be patient for the new stuff that we are working on

Do you think the music industry is dead?
while tv takes control of our lives music industry maybe evolve to something peculiar, because tv is going to poison our mind, but only if we let it, hope and more people thinks the same
Where would you like to see Porcelain Puppets three years from now?
maybe with some albums & playing in the great festivals jajaja all the stuff that all bands want jajaja but mostly comprehension of our purpose, share human experiences with people who thinks that exists a lot of people who see the world different,
What's the band's favorite song to play live?
Bufones, because is a song that we really like & the message is so simple, live under the shadows of ignorance without any hope as some people do it
What was it like the first time you heard one of your songs on the radio ore internet ore clubs? who was the DJ that played your song?
is great when people don't know you and they talks about you music when is being play if they like or not the experience is great
And, finally, what does the next twelve months hold for the band?
maybe, start the production for our first oficial demo, we don't know everything could happen
